Mental Health First Aid Ireland with funding from the HSE and in partnership with Connect Mental Health are running a Youth Mental Health First Aid Course online on Thursday 9th & Friday 10th September for the Donegal community. The course runs over two consecutive days from 9.00am – 4.00pm and we have a limited number of HSE sponsored places available, the normal cost of this course is €350 per person.

Total places on course: This course is limited to 15 people in order to maintain an optimal learning environment.
Youth Mental Health First Aid (Youth MHFA) is designed for adults who live with, work with or support young people aged between 12 and 18. This evidence-based training programme is particularly suited to parents/guardians, school staff, sports coaches, community group leaders, youth workers etc.
Participants who undertake Youth MHFA Training will learn how to assist a young person who may be experiencing a mental health problem or a mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based action plan.
How Do I Register
Click on the below ‘Book Your Place’ Button and proceed to the booking page. Complete your details. On the booking page you will see the cost €350, you will not be charged as places are being sponsored by the HSE. You will receive a registration link 72hrs before the training.
We welcome registrations from individuals who are keen to learn Mental Health First Aid skills to build confidence in supporting young people with their mental health. Please only book a place if you are available to attend the training in full. Once registered, participants will receive additional information regarding Zoom access to the training
What is Involved
Youth Mental Health First Aid training is currently offered online, via Zoom, over two consecutive days from 9am to 4pm. The training is delivered by two accredited Youth Mental Health First Aid instructors who will support your participation and learning.
Course delivery includes the use of case studies, training videos, group activities and discussion throughout to enhance your learning. As this is an interactive training, we encourage you to actively take part using the camera and microphone on your device.
All participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion and a Youth Mental Health First Aid manual.
